Connecting with Our Community

The Pavilion Kiama consider ourselves a significant part of the broader Kiama Community.

We support local not-for-profit organisations including Kiama Lions Club, Kiama Rotary Club and Kiama Boomerang bags, the NSW Department of Education, youth groups, community arts organisations including KISS Arts, as well as local sporting codes within our municipality.

We also source products and services from local businesses including Gumaraa, Willowvale Candles, Kiama Shores, the Nova, Known Designs and Soul Clay Studios.

The Pavilion value our environment and actively work to reduce our environmental footprint across our business. One of the most significant environmental initiatives is the recycling of food waste products from events held at the Pavilion.

Boomerang Bags Kiama

Reduce Reuse Recycle Kiama Inc (R3) was established in 2017 as a not-for-profit incorporated association.

The aim is to develop and support sustainability projects focused on reducing waste in Kiama Local Government Area by working together, educating and changing behaviours.

The Pavilion Kiama is proud to collaborate with R3 to leave the world in a better place for future generations by contributing and fostering opportunities for collective outcomes, learning and knowledge sharing.

Our collaboration connects people and strengthens social networks within the local and commercial communities. The Pavilion recycled tote bags are given as gifts to clients when booking our venue.

Other Environmental Initiatives

The Pavilion was the first commercial space in the Kiama Local Government Area to implement the ‘OK Organics Kiama’ waste collection service which has sadly come to an end now, this initiative was proving hugely successful with a recent comparison audit showing a resource recovery rate of 95.72%. The Pavilion is still committed to reducing its carbon footprint and emissions associated with event management and is striving to meet the LGNSW’s guidelines for event sustainability.
