Event Details
Get ready Kiama! UK electronic pop legends HOT CHIP are bringing their signature DJ set to The Pavilion Kiama on January 4th, 2025. Expect a night of infectious beats, irresistible grooves, and all the energy you know and love from one of the UK’s most iconic electronic acts. This is your chance to experience HOT CHIP in an intimate setting, right by the stunning South Coast.
Hot Chip’s position as one of Britain’s most beloved electronic bands is now firmly and magnificently set in stone, as is the group’s ability to mix the highest strobe-lit euphoria with the most reflective kind of headphones melancholy. Having produced eight albums, countless DJ mixes, and borderline devotional live performances, Hot Chip has claimed the sweet spot of the dancefloor as their own.
Comprising Alexis Taylor, Joe Goddard, Al Doyle, Felix Martin, and Owen Clarke, Hot Chip combines indie and dance in innovative ways. On early albums like 2006’s Mercury Prize-nominated The Warning, the band evoked the cleverness of Talking Heads and the poignancy of the Pet Shop Boys.
As time went on, Hot Chip’s music broadened and deepened, encompassing the tender musings on commitment in 2010’s One Life Stand as well as the anything-goes genre mashups of 2015’s Why Make Sense?. With hit singles including the Grammy-nominated “Ready for the Floor” from 2008’s Made in the Dark and songs like “Over & Over” and “Boy From School” from The Warning, Hot Chip earned a following that allowed them to headline festivals. This was reflected in the rave-tinged anthems of 2019’s A Bath Full of Ecstasy. In 2022, the band returned with Freakout/Release—a collection of flesh-and-blood songs that saw the band reaching into the darkness to emerge as a true creative unit, their gazes fixed positively on the future ahead.
In 2024, the band leaned further into their DJ credentials, touring worldwide with a summer packed with festivals, including an iconic Glastonbury peak-time set at the all-new Arcadia—evidence that the band is far from slowing down.

Event Details
Richard Clapton as one of Australia’s foremost singer/songwriters, paved the way for subsequent generations of songwriters to write about the experience of being Australian.
He grew up in Sydney in the 1960s before hopping a plane for London, and then later to Germany, where he wrote a first album, Prussian Blue (1973) which was one of the first major Australian “singer-songwriter” albums.
One of the most popular songs from Prussian Blue was I Wanna Be A Survivor. I doubt he imagined then, how true that message would turn out to be. His songs are still omnipresent on the radio to this day; his records charting the political landscape of the nation and the turbulent lives of two generations.
Like Americans Jackson Browne and Bruce Springsteen, Richard Clapton developed a sound based on melodic rock while his lyrics were poetic musings on his state of mind or the state of the nation. By 1975, when he released his highly acclaimed, No.1 hit Girls On The Avenue, Clapton had set the themes he was to explore for the coming decades.
Over the following years there were a string of hits including the perennial favorites: Capricorn Dancer, Deep Water, I Am An Island, and many more.
Richard mastered that most difficult of show business acts – the highwire that requires the balance of radio-friendly tunes and candid, from-the-heart, lyrics.
He was a mentor to the younger artists like Jimmy Barnes, INXS and Cold Chisel and in 1981 INXS had him produce their second album, Underneath the Colours, they remain firm friends to this day.
Since his first album in 1973, Richard has shown no signs of slowing down. He has released over 20 albums which have cumulatively sold over one million copies. He is the only rock artist to have received an Australia Council arts grant which enabled him to travel around the world writing new songs based on his experiences..
In 1999 he was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame and in 2014, his first memoir “The Best Years of Our Lives” was published by Allen and Unwin. The book connected with people of all generations because it was not only a story of Clapton’s journey, but it also documented the story of the lives of thousands of fans who had travelled the same road. Young people – fascinated by how it was “back in the day” also became a new generation of fans. The book continues to flourish, resonating with so many people in so many ways.
In a career that now spans over 40 years Richard hasn’t passed through life in a luxurious rock star bubble. He has battled and succeeded at every step of the way and come through it intact as one of the world’s most cherished singer/songwriters with his legions of fans. He is a survivor, with a tale to tell.
Now, in 2021 Richard is releasing his first cover album, entitled Music Is Love (1966-1970). A timely homage to the music of peace love & understanding; tunes of the American hippies from the late 1960’s; Richard Clapton’s unique versions of songs recorded by The Byrds, Crosby, Stills Nash & Young, Bob Dylan, The Doors, Jefferson Airplane, The Band, Lovin’ Spoonful and more, sung as only Richard can.
It is time for these songs to be resurrected lest they and the message they bear is lost for all time, and who better than Australia’s favorite hippie, Richard Clapton!

Event Details
Mark Seymour formed Hunters and Collectors in 1980, with a bunch of Uni friends. The band became famous for its rhythmic power and very quickly became touted as the “next big thing”. The Album “Human Frailty“ was recorded in Melbourne in 1985.
This record has proven to be one of the most important and enduring records of the eighties and Hunters and Collectors were still playing a large part of this cut in 1998 when they retired. With “Human Frailty“ Mark discovered, love, loss, and pop melody. His solo records are directly connected to this era and bear the same stamp of raw honesty and emotional power.
As a solo artist, Mark continues to search for the emotional truth in a song. His strength as a performer remains undiminished despite the ever-present shadow of the band he used to be in.
As well as 13 Hunters & Collectors albums, Mark has released seven solo albums and three with his current band, The Undertow. Throughout it all, he has shown he is one of our finest songwriters, capturing our stories of love, loss, human courage and achievement.
